Bringing the magic of Bloom online
Kooba are digital partners for both Bord Bia and Bloom, and our initial challenge was to design and deliver an immersive and completely engaging online experience that reflected one of Europe's leading gardening festivals.

Bord Bia’s Bloom festival has long been one of Ireland’ favourite summer/garden events, and is Bord Bia's most impactful customer showcase for Irish Horticulture. The festival takes place over a 5 day period on the June Bank Holiday weekend across 70 acres in the Phoenix Park. Kooba were tasked with reimagining this event for the online environment, with a web and social presence that chimed with the values of the festival and presented resources, plus video and ‘how to’ content in a highly interactive and engaging format.
Translating a real world festival to an online event
Various ideas were presented and discussed with the Bord Bia Bloom team, and the final list of deliverables to make the event a success online included the creation of new landing pages, an interactive event schedule and multiple social assets to help promote the new format.

The result
Virtual Bloom at home
After a successful launch of the new digital presence for Bord Bia Bloom, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the in-person event. In an effort to continue the 13-year strong festival and adopt to the new circumstances, Bord Bia and Kooba partnered to define what a virtual Bloom solution might look like. The result was taking the festival online for the #BordBiaBloomAtHome event. We worked closely with Bord Bia to pivot a real-world event to an online experience via web, social and broadcast media. Bloom was able to evolve into a genuinely immersive event and Kooba are proud to have helped deliver this family favourite to the home audience.
